Summary: Directs and coordinates traffic activities of the organization by performing the following duties

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Fork Lift.
  • Knowledge of SAP Transportation Manual.
  • Computer Literate

Responsibilities

  • Prepares bills of lading and other related documents necessary for outbound CPU and warehouse shipments. Batches and prepares paperwork for the loading of shipments for dock personnel. Calls the customer or customer’s carrier to let them know their shipment is ready for pick up.
  • Monitors shipping activities screen VT12, completes the check in button on shipments for plant 1100 to print required paperwork. Batches the paperwork and places in appropriate trays for dock supervisor. When shipment is loaded confirms the transfer order in SAP and completes the PGI on each shipment. Makes sure that VT12 is clean at the end of each day and all shipments are complete.
  • Coordinates shipments and hot freight with ICC, KPA shipping personnel.
  • Answers phones and gives drivers directions to our facilities.
  • Works with drivers and dock personnel to insure that carriers are loaded promptly, in FIFO basis.
  • Prepares daily shipping reports and distributes to appropriate departments.
  • Responsible for cycle counts of finished goods in the warehouse and any other cycle counts as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Researches the status of orders and expedites any problems discovered with an order ship date.
  • Enters annual inventory and necessary adjustments in the department Information Processing System
  • Processes material routing forms and adjusts inventory status.
  • Prepares proper documentation for airfreight shipments upon receipt of proper authorization.
  • Assigns carriers for any freight not handled by ICC.
  • Assists in vacation coverage for Shipper and Receiving.
  • Communicates with other departments, plants, customers, brokers, carriers, customs, drivers, and vendors to resolve traffic issues or to provide information.
  • Prints scale tickets to records weights of delivery trucks and forward to receiving.
