About The Position

Performs skilled and general work functions associated with routine maintenance and construction work in one or more trade areas such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, mechanical and concrete/masonry. Receives work orders and performs assigned construction, maintenance and or repair tasks associated with seasonal, special event and or daily operation of the transit Division. Sets up appropriate signage to warm of hazards, Troubleshoots plumbing, electrical and mechanical problems; reads blue prints, schematics ,flow charts, lab reports and various manuals to diagnose and or repair dysfunctional units or areas of disrepair. Some of the tasks will include, but not limited to , troubleshooting bus wash malfunctions; make needed minor bus stop improvements; automatic fence repairs; moving stored equipment , painting; ETC.

Requirements

Forklift certification required
4 years of specialized experience as a skilled journeyman tradesperson in assigned trade or performing manual work which involved the use of an acquired skill such as in building maintenance and repair work. Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or HVAC.
Must pass Drivers Check and maintain Florida Drivers License
Must pass Drug Testing and Background checks
Candidate must have a flexible work schedule
The position will require 40 hours a week of work.
