About The Position

Trades Technicians perform a variety of skilled labor to support campus operations. In this role, you will perform general maintenance and minor repairs across trades, including: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and unskilled labor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Up to 1 year of related work experience
  • Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, push, and pull
  • Frequently lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds unassisted
  • Occasionally lift items up to 50 lbs
  • Climb and work on stools, ladders, and stairs

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of related work experience
  • Experience with general building maintenance and repair

Responsibilities

  • Performs carpentry repairs on windows, doors, ceilings, shades, flooring, walls, shelfing, and screens.
  • Performs plumbing tasks including repair and replacement of drinking fountains, sinks, toilets, faucets, shower heads, hot water heaters, water and waste lines, and valves.
  • Performs minor low voltage electrical tasks such as replacing and repairing switches, outlets, small appliances, stoves, heaters, and motors.
  • Performs minor HVAC repair tasks such as replacing filters, fans, and belts and checking for leaks.
  • Assists labor and grounds crew with routine duties such as litter removal, leaf pick-up, mulching, and trimming.
  • Submits work orders and coordinates with trades on projects.
  • Completes all work in accordance with standard safety rules and regulations.
