The Trade Compliance Specialist supports the organization’s global trade compliance activities by ensuring adherence to import/export regulations, maintaining documentation, and assisting with audits and internal controls. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to grow their career in international trade, logistics, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in international business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 0–2 years of experience in trade compliance, logistics, or international shipping preferred.
  • Basic understanding of import/export regulations (e.g., EAR, ITAR, Customs).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with U.S. Customs regulations and international trade agreements.
  • Experience with trade compliance software or denied party screening tools.
  • Multilingual capabilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the classification of goods using HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) codes
  • Support the preparation and submission of import/export documentation in compliance with U.S. and international regulations.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure timely customs clearance and resolve any issues with brokers or freight forwarders.
  • Maintain accurate records of trade compliance activities, including permits and declarations.
  • Help conduct internal audits and support corrective actions related to trade compliance.
  • Stay informed on changes in trade regulations and communicate relevant updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with logistics, procurement, and legal teams to ensure compliance across the supply chain.
  • Assist in screening transactions against denied party lists and embargoed countries.
  • Participate in training sessions and contribute to the development of trade compliance procedures.
