Nationality Requirements Due to the nature of the programs we support, certain roles may require candidates to meet U.S. nationality requirements and be eligible to obtain a security clearance. Position Summary This role will enable and shape global business strategies, by providing critical trade compliance guidance and obtaining effective export authorizations. The successful candidate will have export controls subject matter expertise, strong experience in both defense and commercial export licensing, and excellent skills as a business and government liaison. This role is responsible for preparing export authorization package requests and implementing those authorizations once approved by the US government within the business. The resource also provides functional training to ensure business compliance with US export requirements and company policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • 5 or more years of ITAR and EAR export licensing and compliance experience.
  • Ability to facilitate work within and across teams and varied functions and levels of leadership, and customer and supplier contacts.
  • Broad understanding and knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and a working knowledge of the Federal Trade Regulations (FTR).
  • Able to lead process improvements; able to oversee/conduct training and rollout efforts to institutionalize process improvements.
  • Ability to emphasize importance of export compliance practices to all stakeholders, staff and leadership through effective communications and training.
  • Ability to maintain a security clearance from the U.S. government.
  • Ability to work harmoniously in a multi-cultural team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and submit DDTC and BIS export licenses (DSP-5, DSP-61, DSP-73, BIS 748), to the appropriate regulatory agency (.
  • Record and track usage of export licenses in ensuring compliance with the license conditions.
  • Develop and implement trade compliance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Draft, track and manage numerous complex DDTC authorizations including TAAs, MLAs, WDAs and offshore manufacturing.
  • Assist and provide guidance to different workstreams with processing export shipments and other trade compliance matters
  • Responsible for assessing and appropriately classifying our products, software and associated technical data, as well as determining appropriate import/export control authority.
  • Maintains export/import files and records in accordance with U.S. Government export/import regulations and company recordkeeping policy.
  • Provide and coordinate import/export control awareness training to company employees and across functional departments/personnel.
  • Provide support when necessary for additional projects (disclosures, contract reviews, site implementations, etc.)
  • Interfacing closely with stakeholders at program reviews and business development meetings, for complete program awareness leading to development and implementation of effective trade control authorization strategies.
  • Providing advice to stakeholders in identifying potential trade compliance issues and developing solutions to effectively mitigate business risk.
  • Providing subject matter expertise and support to related trade compliance processes, such as export control jurisdiction and classification determinations, authorization use and proviso management, pre-release reviews of technical information, and engagement reviews for foreign person visits and international meetings.
  • Displaying political acumen and strong collaboration skills to bring together multiple stakeholder functions in support of export licensing and trade compliance efforts.
  • Performing other ITC-relevant duties as assigned or required.
