About The Position

The Trade Compliance Analyst, Associate will support our compliance initiatives by monitoring import and export activities to ensure adherence to all applicable U.S. and non-U.S. laws and regulations. Involved in analyzing export classifications, monitoring compliance risk, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain or related fields OR at least 3 years experience with trade compliance.
  • Demonstrates a understanding of U.S. import/export control laws. Familiarity with international trade laws, such as sanctions and embargoes, is evident, along with knowledge of customs regulations like HTS classification, country of origin rules, and tariffs.
  • Proficiency in Excel, database management, and reporting. A solid understanding of restricted party screening tools further enhances technical competence.
  • Excels in collaborating with cross-functional teams—including legal, supply chain, logistics, sales, and shipping—and effectively interacts with third-party vendors such as Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders.
  • Knowledge of trade compliance, logistics, or regulatory affairs

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain import documentation while ensuring precise import/export filing and record keeping.
  • Conduct regular audits of import/export activities against ACE/AES reports to verify regulatory compliance.
  • Support the Freight Forwarder Approval Process by securing necessary Power of Attorney (POA) documentation and auditing freight invoices against established rate sheets.
  • Fulfill customer document requests, including those for free trade agreement certificates of origin.
  • Execute HTS classifications and review both current and new product items.
  • Maintain the item master in the ERP system, ensuring accurate records for HTS codes, origin, and item weight.
  • Submit classification ruling requests to CBP and process requests through the BIS SNAP-R web application.
  • Generate commercial invoices, packing lists, and other international trade documents for special shipments, including marketing materials, RMA returns, and non-commercial products.
  • Provide support for subsidiary engineering and manufacturing operations abroad, particularly for shipments of manufacturing equipment
  • Instruct customs brokers on filing entries and executing post-summary corrections.
  • Prepare and conduct monthly reporting on import corrections and broker performance.
