About The Position

The Trade Compliance Analyst will be a key member of NetApp’s Global Trade Compliance (GTC) organization, based in the United States, supporting the company’s global export and import compliance program. This role sits within the Trade & Transactional Risk Practice (TTRP) and focuses primarily on export screening and transactional risk assessment across customers, partners, and business transactions.   The Analyst will help define, execute, and continuously improve compliance procedures aligned with local, U.S., and international trade regulations, including Restricted Party List (RPL) screening, Enhanced Proliferation Control Initiatives (EPCI), and export licensing requirements for products and technical data.   With a strong emphasis on export screening execution and risk identification, this role is responsible for conducting thorough, accurate, and timely screening of customers, partners, and transactions; maintaining high-quality screening records; and exercising sound judgment when escalating potential risks. The Analyst will work closely with a globally distributed GTC team and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure NetApp conducts business in full compliance with applicable trade laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA, J.D. or Engineering degree a plus.
  • Experience with screening tools and software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in export compliance with high-tech products.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in languages other than English a plus.
  • Prior experience with working in trade compliance programs in large, global tech companies a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and evaluating import/export procedures to maximize delivery performance.
  • Analyzing and researching import/export methods and costs to ensure cost control and efficiency.
  • Scheduling and coordinating inbound and outbound shipments to comply with trade regulations.
  • Processing required documentation for material and products movement.
  • Collaborate with a globally distributed GTC team located in the United States, Ireland, India, and Singapore.
  • Support global screening operations across multiple time zones, consistent with business needs.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for export screening questions and issue resolution.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders on compliance requirements, risks, and remediation steps.
  • Exercise discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive or high-risk matters.
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance standards.
