About The Position

- The Tractor Shredder Operator position involves working in a high-noise environment, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure safety while performing duties.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience operating agricultural machinery, specifically tractors with shredding attachments.
Experience in performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on tractors and shredding equipment.
Ability to safely operate a tractor with a heavy-duty rotary cutter and flail mower blades.
Proficiency in performing minor repairs on both the tractor and attached machinery.
Strict adherence to safe operating procedures, particularly when working near roadways, on steep slopes, or with flying debris.
Competency in conducting equipment inspections and maintaining shredder blades.

Nice To Haves

Ability to lift heavy objects, often 50+ lbs, and work in uncomfortable, outdoor weather conditions.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems, 3-point hitch mechanisms, and PTO (Power Take-Off) operations.
Familiarity with land management and road maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

Operate agricultural machinery, specifically tractors equipped with shredders, to effectively cut, clear, and shred brush, weeds, and grass for various purposes such as farm maintenance, road upkeep, or land management.
Adjust equipment settings to accommodate uneven terrain and ensure optimal performance.
Maintain shredder blades and perform routine equipment inspections to guarantee operational efficiency and safety.
Safely maneuver tractors near roadways, on steep slopes, and in areas with potential flying debris, adhering strictly to safe operating procedures.
Perform minor repairs on both the tractor and attached machinery to maintain functionality and prevent downtime.
