Tractor Operator - Extended Year
About The Position
Operates tractors and earth moving equipment, including materials around warehouses, storage yards, construction sites, or similar locations. Specializes in detecting power lines and other underground hazards. The work involves straightforward, routine, structured tasks guided by established policies and procedures, requiring little independent judgment. Decisions are made on routine matters affecting few individuals within the department, with specific job activities and results closely reviewed. Errors are readily detected and result in minor correction expenses. Basic communication is required, primarily with customers, supervisors, and co-workers.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Less than 6 months of work experience
- Proficiency in operating vehicles (e.g., automobile, truck, tractor, forklift)
Responsibilities
- Performs lawn maintenance
- Moves levers and controls that operate lifting devices to load, unload, transport and stack materials
- Positions lifting devices under, over or around loaded pallets, skids and boxes
- Secures material or products for transport to designated areas
- Operates equipment in a proper and safe manner
- Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, recharging batteries, fueling, or replacing liquefied-gas tank
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
