Acara Solutions seeks a Tracking Systems Engineer for our client in Scottsdale, AZ. As a Systems Engineer for the SDA GMI program, you will be a key member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying state-of-the-art ground operational systems. Your contributions will be crucial to the program's success and innovation. Design, develop, and integrate ground-based tracking and mission systems for space operations. Translate high-level system requirements into detailed architectures, interfaces, and designs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support system validation, deployment, and sustainment. Contribute to the development of cloud-based and microservice-oriented system solutions.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering or Science or Engineering or Technology or Mathematics with 5 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with system/software design for cloud-based microservice architecture.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with systems design, integration, and validation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with ground pre-planned or ad-hoc scheduling and situational awareness of satellites and payloads.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with tracking IR payload or ground mission data transport, handling, and analysis.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience decomposing high-level space-ground systems design into ground software/systems design.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with MBSE methodologies and tools such as CAMEO or MagicDraw.
  • Master's Degree with 3 years of experience.
  • Agile experience.
  • Ground system design or scheduling knowledge.
  • Tracking mission design knowledge.
  • Satellite communications knowledge.
  • Ground to satellite communication knowledge.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows).
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in requirements analysis and system architecture design.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in documenting system designs, configurations, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in systems engineering, decomposing requirements into architecture, internal and external interfaces, and design behavior.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, and MATLAB, including for software developer coordination, system analysis, prototype algorithm development, or modeling.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and their application in system design and deployment.
  • Background in simulation and modeling analysis with tools like STK, particularly in aerospace applications.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
