About The Position

As a Systems Engineer for the SDA GMI program, you will be a key member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying state-of-the-art ground operational systems. Your contributions will be vital to the success and innovation of the program.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
  • Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
  • Agile experience preferred.
  • CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Preferred Technical Background: Systems Engineering: Proficiency in systems engineering, decomposing requirements into architecture, internal and external interfaces, and design behavior
  • Experience with ground pre-planned or ad-hoc scheduling and situational awareness of satellites and payloads
  • Experience with tracking IR payload or ground mission data transport, handling, and analysis
  • Experience decomposing high-level space-ground systems design into ground software/systems design
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools such as CAMEO or MagicDraw
  • Programming and Tools Skills: Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, and MATLAB, including for software developer coordination, system analysis, prototype algorithm development, or modeling
  • Cloud Computing: Knowledge of cloud technologies and their application in system design and deployment
  • Simulation and Modeling: Background in simulation and modeling analysis with tools like STK, particularly in aerospace applications a plus
  • DevOps and Automation: Understanding of DevOps principles and practices
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Security and Compliance: Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
  • Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
