Cross train to learn all aspects of preparing the main track, training track, horse paths, and paddock areas for racing and training daily. Learn to operate all equipment to maintain the racetrack, and when to use them depending on the weather (i.e. tractors, floats, box harrows, double gangs, water truck, horse ambulance and conditioners etc). Keep all equipment clean, well maintained and set correctly. Inspect, watch, and listen to equipment to make sure it is working properly. Report all problems with equipment to supervisor immediately. Keep track, horse path, and paddock in good condition. This includes shoveling the board on the inside rail, outside fence, washouts, drains in the infields, and any other labor work as needed.
