JOB SUMMARYResponsible for assisting with the direction of daily work for Track Maintenance. Responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of buildings and structures in the stable area throughout the year. During live racing season, performing duties maintaining the dirt track through a variety maintenance vehicles and equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a racing license from the Virginia Racing Commission.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED certificate plus two years similar work experience; or, four years’ work experience; or a combination of work and education may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Operates equipment as indicated in the operator’s manual and in a safe manner.
  • Performs a daily inspection of equipment.
  • Maintains equipment daily and reports all incidents, malfunctions, and unsafe or unhealthy conditions to supervisor.
  • Maintains area grounds by mowing, edging, trash pick-up, among other methods.
  • Cleans the area around the manure bins daily for pick-up during the racing season.
  • Installs and repairs electrical and plumbing structures and fixtures.
  • Measures, cuts, and shapes wood and other materials.
  • Constructs building frameworks; including, walls, floors, door frames, downspouts, and gutters.
  • Inspects and replaces damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
  • Utilizes many different hand and power tools including, but not limited to, squares, levels, chisels, sanders, circular saws, drills, nail guns to cut and shape wood, drywall, or other materials.
  • Fastens materials together with nails, screws, staples, and adhesives accurately.
  • Measures materials to ensure productivity, reduces waste, and ensures efficiency.
  • Ensures the area under construction is properly cordoned off to ensure the safety of others.
  • Uses proper and required Personal Protection Equipment.
  • Follows and adheres to all policies & procedures and rules & regulations.
  • Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests. Demonstrates #AddLife culture in all interactions with guests and co-workers.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established procedures with company policy and state regulations.
  • Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
