Looking for a career that fuels your passions? We have the perfect opportunity for you! Prairie Meadows Casino, Racetrack, and Hotel is looking for a Track Equipment Mechanic to assist in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining facility machinery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent along with technical or specialized training in the mechanics/welding field.
• At least five years’ experience required.
• Must have valid driver’s license with Class B CDL Air Brakes and safe driving record.
• Must be able to perform repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to operate various types of equipment safety and cautiously.
• Must pay close attention to detail.
• Must be able to drive both standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Must have excellent problem-solving skills.
• Must know how to weld and use welding equipment.
• Ability to function as a team player.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with persons of diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work from ladders.
• Ability to stand or walk for eight-hour shifts.
• May be on call 24 hours for major breakdowns and snow removal.
• Indoor and outdoor environment.
• May have exposure to chemicals.
• Ability to bend and do overhead work.
• Smoking environment.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays when necessary.
• Subject to injury from use of hand or power tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintains track equipment, small engine equipment & attachments, snow removal equipment & attachments, hydraulic systems, fences and gate repairs.
• Designs and fabricates changes to or building of needed equipment.
• Repairs equipment by using different types of welding equipment, cutters, saws, presses, hoists, etc.
• Ensures all equipment is clean and in presentable condition.
• Troubleshoots problems with equipment.
• Maintains proper records on all repairs/maintenance.
