About The Position

The Service Technician is a skilled professional responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing all types of automotive problems. You'll be the heart of the service department, using your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure vehicles are running smoothly and safely.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Service Technician or related automotive repair experience.
  • Completion of an automotive technician training program or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Certifications: Toyota Certified Automotive Technician and ASE Certified. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, bending, reaching).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an automotive technician training program or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair Toyota vehicles accurately by analyzing customer concerns and performing comprehensive system inspections (engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, and drivability).
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools and Toyota service systems (scanners, multimeters, pressure gauges, service manuals) to identify root causes—not just symptoms.
  • Perform repairs to OEM standards, following Toyota procedures, safety guidelines, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs to confirm performance, safety, and repair quality.
  • Document all work clearly and completely on repair orders, including diagnostics, labor performed, and parts used.
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers, explaining technical issues in plain language and supporting accurate estimates and timelines.
  • Recommend preventative maintenance and needed repairs based on vehicle condition and Toyota guidelines—always with integrity.
  • Stay current on Toyota technology and training, maintaining required certifications and adapting to evolving vehicle systems.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, following dealership and OSHA safety standards.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused shop culture, supporting efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.
