Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical school certification in automotive technology or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience servicing and repairing material handling equipment or heavy machinery
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record required
  • Toyota MDT certifications (or ability to obtain within specified timeframe)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and computerized diagnostic software
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Basic computer skills for service reports and Toyota's service management software
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly
  • Capable of standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and industrial environments
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Possess a driver's license with a clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Toyota forklifts or industrial equipment highly preferred
  • Forklift operator certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on Toyota material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers)
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections according to Toyota service standards
  • Complete accurate service reports, work orders, and parts documentation in Toyota's computer systems
  • Provide professional on-site service at customer facilities and communicate repair recommendations clearly
  • Order parts, maintain service vehicle inventory, and track parts usage for accurate billing
  • Follow all safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and ensure equipment meets safety standards before release
  • Maintain service vehicle, tools, and diagnostic equipment in proper working condition
  • Stay current with Toyota products and technologies through required training and certification programs
  • Manage daily service schedule and prioritize calls efficiently to meet customer needs
