About The Position

The Toy Store Supervisor & Buyer oversees daily store operations of the Toy Store by leading a team of Sales Associates and works in partnership with the Store Manager and Retail Leadership Team to curate a merchandise assortment and place orders accordingly to specifically support the brand.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Previous retail, hospitality or customer experience roles
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English with customers and team members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
  • Commitment to providing a superior customer experience to each and every Sun Valley guest
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed at our year-round resort
  • Can travel out of state periodically to various markets or shows in conjunction with the manager or retail leadership to select ongoing merchandise needs
  • Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, lifting, handling, poking, and reaching
  • Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Daily communications and cooperation with the manager to ensure positive day-to-day operations at the store.
  • Creates a happy store environment where guests receive a warm welcome and a genuine Sun Valley experience when shopping in the store or enjoying a special event.
  • Promotes teamwork, customer service, store appearance and presentation implementation, and follows & upholds company policies and procedures.
  • Works closely with the store manager to hire sales associates and assists with the interview and hiring process including onboarding, paperwork completion, providing uniforms & nametags for new associates and providing a training schedule for new associates.
  • Assists with weekly schedules, payroll submission and commission updates, assigns employees to specific duties, and formalizes weekly meetings with the retail manager and regular meetings with the staff.
  • Supervises, trains, and motivates employees engaged in sales work, taking inventories, reconciling cash draws, keeping operating records, or preparing daily records of transactions.
  • Works closely with the retail purchasing/receiving team and inspects and checks in the incoming merchandise shipments.
  • Handles all return authorizations and supervises special orders and communicates these needs with the central receiving team.
  • Processes sales at POS and can utilize RTP for inventory management and to track sales to place reorders.
  • Fields any customer complaints or concerns, examines returned merchandise and resolves problems to restore and promote good public relations and provide an excellent customer experience.
  • Collaborates with the store manager to select to order for store inventory and help curate an assortment of items relevant to our guests and to support special events.
  • Keeps detailed records of merchandise orders placed and fosters relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of orders placed.
  • Delegates cleaning, restocking, vendor inventories, and organizational responsibilities to sales staff
  • Directly supervises 5-10 employees in the retail store.
