About The Position

The Virginia Capacity Building Project supports Serve Virginia and their partners in alleviating the effects of poverty through organizational capacity building. While our project covers a wide range of issue areas, from substance use disorder to educational opportunities, all of our members are dedicated to increasing the impact and reach of volunteerism and to pursuing healthy futures for all Virginians. The efforts of our AmeriCorps members will help us build towards a healthier, happier, and stronger Commonwealth. Serve your community and develop your professional skills through a year of service with AmeriCorps VISTA! In this in-person position, the Town of New Market Community Programming VISTA will build capacity by revitalizing the currently underutilized community center and its programming. The Member will do so by drafting a program development plan, expanding community engagement and support, and identifying resources to promote long-term financial sustainability. The right fit for this position will have strong in-person, phone, and written communication skills to engage all sectors of the community in building capacity and vision for a vibrant and supportive community center. The applicant should have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
