About The Position

The Tours & Events Sales Assistant Manager works to drive revenue and attendance to the museum through group sales and tourism outreach. This position actively identifies and solicits prospects for group visits by generating and nurturing leads. The Tours & Events Sales Assistant Manager will also be responsible for overseeing and scheduling paid group tours and visits to the Petersen Museum. This position maintains the CRM system, Leads, Reservation and Calendaring in collaboration with the Group Services Assistant and ensures that group tour arrangements are successful from the initial tour request until the arrival of the groups on their scheduled date.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular outside sales calls to promote group tours, private events, and special programming.
  • Establish and execute overall group visitation plan and sales campaigns, including but not limited to hotels, senior living facilities, adult affinity groups, international groups, corporate groups, and the travel and tourism industry.
  • Cultivate relationships with local hotel concierges.
  • Deliver volume, profitability targets, and revenue through new commercial opportunities across all identified market sales channels.
  • Oversee all leads and sales activity across key promotional efforts and client accounts.
  • Forecast and project sales targets across all tourism and travel industry channels.
  • Oversee and manage partnerships and combination tickets with local attractions and partners.
  • Develop, implement, and manage a customer referral program in and around the Los Angeles area.
  • Develop targeted outreach program, including museum events and personal appearances to sell group tours.
  • Work with Marketing and Creative Services departments to produce printed collateral.
  • Create partnerships and relationships that can be cultivated into future group sales.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with tour organizers, from the initial inquiry through the post-tour evaluation.
  • Disseminate tour confirmation and preparation materials.
  • Oversee the accounting for group tour payments
  • Request volunteers to ensure sure that docents are secured for group tours.
  • Coordinate with other departments as needed for special requests or large groups under the direction of supervisor.
  • Provide input into group tour policies and procedures and keep the website content updated accordingly.
  • Report sales activity, synthesize tour statistics and reports, and manage contact lists, as needed.
  • Assist with program evaluation and visitor and docent feedback relating to group tours.
