About The Position

The Total Rewards Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day administration and execution of the organization's compensation and benefits programs. This role ensures all programs are market-competitive, legally compliant, and aligned with the company's strategic goals and talent acquisition/retention strategy. The Supervisor will manage daily operations, serve as a subject matter expert, and provide guidance to associates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources or general Total Rewards administration.
  • Expert knowledge of compensation and benefit principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively presenting complex data and policies to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment and discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems with experience with Workday a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of all employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, 401(k) plans, stock purchase plan and deferred comp plan.
  • Assist with the annual Open Enrollment process, including communication, vendor coordination, system updates and the maintenance of wernerbenefits.com.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, and COBRA.
  • Work with Werner's benefits brokers and vendors to resolve any issues and monitor service delivery. Attend and actively participate in regular meetings with our benefits vendors with a focus on maintaining competitive and appropriate benefit offerings.
  • Handle submission of all monthly benefits invoices.
  • Work to increase education for associates surrounding benefits including but not limited to the key differences in our benefit packages and the benefits of Health Savings Accounts, Stock Purchase Plan, and our 401(k) plan. Attend orientations and educate associates on benefits when appropriate.
  • Ensure all Total Rewards programs adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare reports and analytics on compensation and benefits data (e.g., utilization, cost projections, turnover impact) to support strategic decision-making.
  • Handle the annual distribution of the Summary Annual Reports, assist with the review of Form 5500s, assist with any necessary 401(k) corrections.
  • Retain necessary documentation regarding plan changes and amendments.
  • Provide support as needed for the Annual 401(k) audit.
  • Support internal and external audits of Total Rewards programs.
  • Assist with the creation of new or editing of existing job descriptions to determine appropriate salary grades and classification.
  • Work with the Talent Acquisition team as needed to ensure we are able to recruit appropriate talent.
  • Participate in external compensation surveys as needed. Assist with internal equity analyses to ensure competitive pay practices.
  • Assist as needed with the annual merit review process. Provide reminders to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for employees regarding compensation and benefits questions and issues.
  • Supervise the Benefit Specialists.
  • Work to ensure cross-training across the department.
  • Assist with developing and delivering employee communications and educational materials on benefits and other Total Rewards programs.
