About The Position

The Total Rewards Specialist plays an important role in delivering a positive employee experience by supporting Nevada Gold Mines’ compensation and benefits programs. In this role, you’ll provide operational and administrative support that ensures our Total Rewards programs run smoothly, accurately, and compliantly. You’ll work closely with HR partners, vendors, and employees to coordinate benefits administration, support compensation processes, and help employees understand and access the rewards available to them. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, problem-solving, and helping people navigate benefits and pay programs while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field; or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Total Rewards, Human Resources or related role
  • Basic knowledge of benefits administration including COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and other regulations and compliance preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and delivery of employee benefit programs: serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits (escalated from HR Services team and employee concierge service); assist in preparing benefits-related reports as needed; provide high-level guidance to the HR Services team for resolution of benefit questions and issues
  • Support the annual benefit program review; contribute to the drafting of communications and the preparation of management decision-making tools
  • Support compensation transactions including job changes, pay changes, audits, and reporting
  • Participate in annual audits of 401(k) and pension plans: collecting documents, preparing / collecting reports, coordinating SAR distribution
  • Support administration of 401(k) retirement plan: weekly reconciliation of integrations / file feeds (including deferral, loan, and HSA files, as well as participant updates including terminations, rehires, status changes); coordinate with HR Services team on data issues / corrections; serve as point of contact for employee inquiries regarding changes in address, status, etc.
  • Oversee administration of Financial Education initiatives, including coordination with vendors (i.e., Fidelity, Prudential) on scheduling, arranging meeting rooms, coordinating communications
  • Participate in the preparation and distribution of employee communications (i.e., SPD’s, annual mailings, period benefits topics)
  • Develop and deliver educational materials and presentations to New Hires, employees and the HR team about health benefits and wellness initiatives; assist with new hire benefits enrollment processing
  • Coordinate annual Open Enrollment process and activities
  • Support Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting requirements: ensure ongoing data feeds are processing and occurring without error, participate in ongoing calls with vendor, address data issues and escalate as needed
  • Serve as point of contact for US Barrick Share Purchase Plan (BSPP) administration: collect required employee documentation for matching share purchases; coordinate monthly matching share purchases with Corporate Rewards team and US payroll teams; communicate purchase information to employees
  • Serve as point of contact for US Shareworks employee account administration: coordinate ongoing communications regarding annual tax documents, etc.; update participant accounts as needed for ad-hoc changes to status, address, etc.; submit monthly reports to Corporate Rewards team for terminations, new hires, and account activation codes; communicate account activation codes to internal HR teams
  • Calculate monthly premiums / funding requirements for various programs, coordinate invoice creation and payment
  • Coordinate quarterly Global Employee Share Plan (GESP) sales and dividends
  • Oversee administration of Dependent Scholarship Program
  • Support administration of various point solutions and benefit programs, including: Wellness, Adoption Assistance, Voluntary Benefits, Retiree Medical, etc.
  • Help ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to employee benefits, including FMLA, ACA, and ERISA
  • Collaborate with various team members to communicate benefits information through meetings, intranet, printed communications, etc.
  • Participate in projects related to benefits administration and employee engagement initiatives
  • Follow the organization's HS&E policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the wellbeing of oneself and others in the workplace
