About The Position

The role of the CHR Top Side Supervisor is to monitor and manage all aspects of safety, quality and productivity of catalyst unloading and re-loading activities from their position on the top of the reactor in inert and normal atmospheric conditions.

Requirements

• Fit for work
• Background check
• CHR Inert entry (min. theory section) completed and passed
• Confined Space entry certified
• Confined Space rescue trained and certified
• First Aid trained and certified
• Driver license
• Rigger advanced
• All relevant client courses and certificates
• Clear communicator in English language using two way radio
• Fit enough to be on top of reactor in heat or cold for eight to twelve hours per day, multiple days in a row
• Able to work calmly under stress
• Able to organize and manage a team
• Pull equipment trailers safely
• 5 years in catalyst handling in relevant field roles, preferably 3 years as entry technician
• 1 years managing teams in refineries or chemical plants

Nice To Haves

• High Angle Rescue trained
• DOT license
• Basic fitting

Responsibilities

• Monitors the activities inside the reactor to ensure safety and well being of the Catalyst Technician inside the reactor and assists with handing and removing tools
• Competent in (inert) vessel entry equipment set-up and checks
• Able to monitor gasses as per CHR procedure communicates issues with Console Operator and Foreman
• Proven ability to think and plan ahead. Prepares for the next steps to optimize productivity and reduce entry time
• Competent in overseeing suiting up of Catalyst Technician prior to entry
• Manages the deck logistics to keep the deck clear of obstruction and equipment on the deck securely roped off.
• Acts as liaison between entry technician and ground support and communicates effectively so that unloading and vacuum processes are carried out safely and in a timely manner
• Is in charge of Confined Space Rescue as per per CHR confined Space Rescue procedures
