About The Position

A Toolmaker is responsible for the disassembly, assessment, repair, and assembly of Blow and Injection Molding tooling to ensure optimal production performance. Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • 5+ years’ experience in Tool & Die or related field.
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools.
  • Experience operating Tool & Die machinery: lathes, mills, grinders, welders, etc.
  • Overhead Crane/rigging experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical Certificate from Trade School preferred.
  • Experience with hot runner injection and stretch blow molding preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate all machinery, hand tools, and equipment.
  • Resolve tooling issues based upon production feedback.
  • Participate in tooling repairs and communicate all issues to senior staff.
  • Perform specialty operations as requested by senior staff (milling, turning, welding, grinding, polishing, etc.).
  • Electronically document all work performed for every mold.
  • Read blueprints and utilize precision measurement devices (height gauges, bore gauges, micrometers, sine plates, gauge blocks, etc.) to verify components meet print specifications.
  • Repair or request replacement parts as needed to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Aid production in troubleshooting tool and machine issues on the floor as requested by senior staff.
  • Use handheld tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, socket sets, power tools, etc.
  • Take the lead on individual tool projects and preventative maintenance projects.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ability to work overtime or fill absences as needed based on the needs of the business.
  • Follow all safety requirements.
