At Campbell Fittings, we don't just meet standards; we set them. We are seeking a Toolmaker to join our Boyertown, PA Plant Team. The ideal candidate for this position will have prior toolmaking experience in a manufacturing environment and display mechanical aptitude.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of working in a manufacturing environment required
  • 5+ years of toolmaking experience required
  • Excellent communication skills including active listening
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently and able to ask for help when needed
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software
  • Must be comfortable and efficient in working in a busy open-floor environment
  • Must be comfortable working in a team environment as well as individually

Responsibilities

  • Use micrometers, rules, dial calipers, dial indicators, squares, protractors, levels, and various hand tools necessary to perform tasks.
  • Read and interpret drawings of machinery and tools and use CNC and manual milling machines, CNC and manual lathes, welders, grinders, drill presses, power saws, and hydraulic press to make tooling and equipment as well as to make repairs and to fabricate or modify guards, brackets, chutes, and other uncomplicated parts.
  • Design, modify and evaluate tooling, fixtures, and machinery for optimum efficiency and utilization.
  • Troubleshoot, rebuild, and repair equipment.
  • Display a high degree of skill, ingenuity, and inventiveness in solving electrical, mechanical, and other systems problems.
  • Perform layout of equipment and work stations to determine the most efficient and economical flow of work and/or set-up of equipment.
  • Perform a variety of semi-complex installations, repairs, and maintenance throughout the plant and warehouse including mechanical repairs and adjustments, and fabrication of repair and replacement parts.
  • Communicate openly with all co-workers: machine operators, supervisors, engineering staff, production control, and management.
  • Report to the Plant Manager for assignments.
  • Perform machine set-ups, adjustments, maintenance, and operate equipment when necessary.
  • Maintain, inspect, and adjust gages and measuring instruments.
  • Check equipment to maintain and/or improve efficiency, safe operation, quality, and tool life. Perform experiments with new processes, tooling, coolants, etc., when required.
  • Clean and/or replace company tools, equipment, and supplies after use. Clean machinery in machine shop after use.
  • Maintain tool carts, boxes, and cabinets in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Correct any unsafe conditions found and report defective materials, tools, or equipment and any unusual or unsafe conditions to the plant manager.
  • Follow all established safety rules and procedures including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which includes: 1. Mandatory: safety glasses, hard sole anti-slip shoes 2. Optional: Steel-toe shoes (toe protection shoes), gloves, hearing protection
  • Report defective materials and unusual or unsafe conditions to Production Control Manager and/or Plant Manager.
  • Performs other related or additional duties as assigned.
