About The Position

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH) is looking for a Toolmaker II in Tulsa, OK. Shift: First (05:00 to 15:30); other shifts may be available Pay Rate: $28.75 per hour Job Type: Full-time, Contract Contract Duration: 12 months (w/opportunity for extension) Benefits: coverage of up to one-half of employee's medical insurance premium for a base plan eight (8) paid holidays per diem split (if qualified) three (3) sets of uniforms (if applicable) opportunity to become a direct hire after ninety (90) days Experience/Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Three (3) years machine shop experience and/or machine shop training at a Vocational Technical School. Valid Driver’s License required. Purpose: Under minimal supervision, lay out and construct tools from Tool Design, Engineering drawings and/or hand sketches. Perform the necessary calculations of the material needed to do the job.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Three (3) years machine shop experience and/or machine shop training at a Vocational Technical School.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Must have a good understanding and ability to apply shop math.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Must have a good understanding of Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate tool shop machinery and equipment to fabricate and assemble quality tooling from Tool Design, Engineering drawings and/or hand sketches.
  • Perform calculations of materials needed and the speed and feeds required. on all of the machining functions.
  • Set up and utilize precision measuring tools; check own work for conformance to specifications.
  • Assist with tool prove out on new and reworked detail tooling.
  • Responsible for the repair and maintenance of tooling fixtures, scaffolding, dollies, hoists and test equipment.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Operate cart and forklift.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
