As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains, and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy. Job Summary: The Tooling Projects Optimization Specialist II ensures the delivery of safe and effective tooling to support outages on time and within budget. Supports the global team through distribution of tooling, management of new and improved tooling, development of the Recommended Tool List (RTL), improvement of equipment, and management of data to support the use of ETM.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working with the tooling business
  • Understanding of Standard Maintenance Protocols (SMP), work instructions, field procedures, and ability to read drawings
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting or understanding complex problems via telephone and/or video conference
  • Experience working with ERP, SAP, Microsoft Office applications, and technical databases
  • Willingness and ability to travel globally up to 15% of the time
  • Generator: Minimum of 5 years’ experience with: low- and high-voltage electrical, knowledge of Megohmmeter, Digital Low Resistance OHM Meter, and DC Hipots
  • English proficiency required

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects and programs with global application, partnering with EHS, Quality, Engineering, Lean, Value Stream, and regional teams
  • Utilize the Innovation Hub and Post Outage Review to evaluate return on investment (ROI) and support Value Stream needs; guide ideas through committee review, New Product Initiative (NPI), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Kaizen projects, and Industrialization
  • Help tool centers implement tooling changes, supporting change management resulting from new tool development and changes to existing tooling
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop solutions to complex problems
  • Partner with regional teams to implement global tooling productivity programs, projects, and tools that improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
  • Produce and distribute operational and ad hoc reports to support Global Tooling
  • Conduct analysis on operational data including rental rates, equipment utilization, logistics, and kit content
  • Work directly with tooling staff in the development of solutions to equipment and delivery constraints
  • Lead the develop tooling training materials for the global organization, leverage larger tooling team to support the creation Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMP), and deliver training when needed
  • Partner with engineering, tooling, and other functions to ensure correct equipment updates are made and distributed on time
  • Support development of documentation for internation tool shipments
  • Work with vendors to drive quality, on-time delivery, and fulfillment
  • Support outage event management teams to ensure tooling initiatives are met
  • Support identification of gaps in the Recommended Tool Lists (RTL)
  • Review and support MOC regional process
  • Support the Non-Conforming Report (NCR) process, provide guidance, and where need lead solutions
  • Develop new materials and equipment BOMs
  • Drive adoption of ETM (Electronic Tooling Management) globally and provide suggested improvements
  • Support fulfillment and implementation of Quality Management Systems (QMS) procedures
  • Effectively communicate daily with the Global Optimization team to provide status updates and escalate problem-solving items requiring additional support
  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments
  • May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive the GE Vernova vision and align with organizational core values.
