About The Position

As a Maintenance Tooling Technician at MANN+HUMMEL, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing plastic injection molds, utilizing your expertise in tool and die mold repair to ensure production efficiency and quality. Your responsibilities will include performing emergency repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program earning a journeyman’s card or a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in tool and die mold repair.
  • Proven experience with plastic injection molding equipment.
  • Strong mechanical background with experience in tool and die mold repair.
  • Familiarity with hot runner and valve gate systems.
  • Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
  • Competency in tool room machining.
  • Knowledge and experience with a variety of shop tools and automated equipment.
  • Ability to work independently, including planning and requisitioning parts, managing work schedules, and ensuring task completion and closure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform emergency repair and maintenance of plastic injection tools and dies.
  • Modify and fabricate tooling equipment based on engineering specifications and blueprints.
  • Fabricate component parts from samples or prints.
  • Coordinate and execute preventative maintenance for plastic injection molds.
  • Record daily activities and work progress in the Centralized Maintenance Management System.
  • Organize and complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, as well as manufacturing projects and continuous improvement events.
  • Use troubleshooting techniques and root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues with plastic injection molds.
