About The Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic Tooling Technician Trainee with a “can-do” attitude to join our team and learn the ins and outs of tooling and machining. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain extensive hands-on tooling experience and in a quickly growing medical device manufacturing setting. The mission of the Tooling Technician Trainee is to absorb the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out various tooling changes that are in line with production scheduling. The Tooling Technician Trainee is responsible for the preparation of mold tooling for production. This consists of completing preventative and unscheduled maintenance, repairs and modifications to support production. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced tooling and molding specialists on a variety of machine shop equipment, as well as general manufacturing practices. You will learn to install, remove, troubleshoot, properly handle and maintain sensors and associated equipment such as RJG transducers. You will be able to contribute to continuous improvement projects within the department. You will report to the Molding Engineering Team Lead.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery, and tooling
  • Ability to use precision measuring and gauging equipment common to the machining and tooling trades
  • Ability to read blueprints and sketches proficiently
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely and maintain high standards of workmanship
  • Ability to operate a forklift and crane to handle tools
  • Computer literate: Windows, MS word, excel, CAD
  • Ability to communicate effectively at various levels and with various methods

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work in manufacturing, machining, or a related field is a plus
