As a key member of our world-class performance-driven team, you’ll be responsible for the oversight of all technical aspects of the EBM, SBM, and IBM Molding Departments and Tool Room.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 8–10 years of progressive experience as a Molding or Production Manager in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience guiding peers and subordinates.
  • Processing knowledge of EBM, SBM, and IBM molding equipment.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Experience preparing cost estimates, budgets, correspondence, and status reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and automated work‑order tracking systems
  • PPE Required –Requirements are proper hearing protection, safety glasses (prescription if required), steel-toed shoes, hairnet, and beard net.
  • Near Vision -- The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • The ability to distinguish between slight variations in color.
  • Lifting Requirements -- Ability to lift 35 pounds over head to total height of six feet repetitively.
  • Walking/Standing---Requirements ability to walk and or stand for 8 hours per day.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all employees adhere to safety guidelines and Life Saving Rules.
  • Manage all molding and tool room operations within established process guidelines and budgets.
  • Ensure all products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Oversee cost control and justification for mold repairs and replacements.
  • Develop and implement process modifications, improvements, and project specifications.
  • Partner with Corporate Engineering on new mold installation and refurbishment projects.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager to ensure preventative maintenance programs are completed as scheduled.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for molds and tooling.
  • Develop and implement mold/tooling parts inventory in JDE for PM and repairs.
  • Review and analyze daily production performance to ensure efficiency goals are met and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor daily scrap and regrind totals to maximize material usage and minimize waste.
  • Coordinate with the MRO Buyer to maintain adequate mold/tooling parts inventory and ensure timely ordering.
  • Participate in maintaining compliance with the Food Safety Program (GMP).
  • Participate in maintaining the Quality Management System (ISO).
  • Assist other departments with special projects as assigned.
  • Participate in production and safety management team meetings as requested.
  • Interact regularly with Human Resources, Buyer/Planner, Quality Control, Warehouse, Tool Room, Maintenance, Customer Service, Sales, equipment vendors, and parts suppliers.
  • Lead staff to complete activities efficiently and safely.
  • Ensure employees work safely and have proper safety instruction and PPE.
  • Drive a goal of zero recordable and lost‑time accidents.
  • Define job duties and expectations for team members.
  • Provide training for all technicians to ensure adequate skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and manage performance issues as needed.
  • Define criteria for personnel advancement.
  • Administer coaching and counseling in a timely manner.
  • Enforce personnel policies & procedures & complete all related documentation promptly.
  • Assist in the selection and hiring of staff.
  • Control employee overtime hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Has the authority to shut down production or stop any machine when necessary to ensure safety, quality, or operational compliance.
  • Performs essential functions and assigned duties while communicating any deviations from established requirements to management.
  • Identifies and reports safety concerns to management and is authorized to shut down any equipment that presents a safety hazard.
  • Stops production or shuts down equipment for any machine malfunction deemed to be a functional property.
