JOB SUMMARY: Works independently under minimal supervision to maintain, record, audit and update records and adjustments for all tooling, whether customer owned or not, under Howmet Aerospace’s Wichita Fall’s (HWF's) sole control and at any outside HWF vendor. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Keeps up to date and accurate tool inventory records for all tooling built and assigned to customer Job / Part numbers using the base tool number and suffix nomenclature. Helps support periodic and annual tool inventory audits per customer requests, especially on government owned property. Prepares tooling for shipment to outside facilities and receives tooling from outside facilities. Prepares tooling on a routine periodic basis for use in manufacturing by disassembling, lubricating, inspecting for damage and adherence to known manufacturing set values. Prepares tooling for local and offsite storage / retrieval. Using Computers (entering information, etc.) Must be able to read and interpret Product Criteria (PC) and Activity Instructions (AI). Must be able to function as a member of a team and be able to work under general supervision. Must be able to maintain expected quality levels. Comply with all site required policies and procedures including but not limited to: EHS, Quality, Code of Conduct, and the Wichita Falls Employee Handbook. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Record and consistently update the movement of all tooling under HWF's control between divisions, customers, vendors, and storage locations from the time of construction or from the date first received until tooling is retired or dispositioned. 2. Assigns a unique division identifier (WF-XXXX) for each Job / Part number intended for production at HWF. This involves a unique combination alpha / numeric suffix to each item of tooling in addition to the four-digit HWF number assigned to the parent wax pattern die. 3. Perform annual or periodic customer and government requested physical inventory requests for all tooling under HWF's control 4. Maintain and update a computer database for control of tooling in Microsoft Access and Excel. 5. Make, check, record and maintain control records of all cored pattern die pin heights on a regular basis during tool cleaning cycles or upon Engineering requests. 6. Compile tooling documentation for all tooling received when new onto proper network locations for future reference. 7. Initiate and maintain a complete tool history file for all tools located at HWF. 8. Create reports on tooling, as required, and procedures for tooling control. 9. Establish and maintain preventive maintenance procedures / schedules for all wax tooling in support of manufacturing. 10. Communicate to various personnel on the status, condition, and location of tooling whether internal or external to HWF. 11. Perform other duties as required. 12. Complies with all EHS rules related to the work environment. 13. Works overtime as needed SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to work quickly, safely, and accurately to meet schedules. Must be able to communicate by oral/written means to convey results of tool rework. Must have mechanical ability. Must be constantly aware of safety practices and procedures, using good work habits, while operating machinery. Work consists of detailed and complex tasks and independent judgment is often required. Must work with computers and input data daily using Microsoft Products. Must keep a well maintained and organized system of records. Must operate precision equipment and measuring devices to collect accurate and meaningful data for the task at hand.
