About The Position

Responsible for providing tooling support to manufacturing. This includes processing of mandrels which will include: cutting and machining; CNC machine and hand bending; welding; grinding; processing of templates which will include: CNC Mill, Surfcam, table saw; radial arm saw; band saw; scroll saw; planner; joiner; drill press; drum sander; belt/disc sander; router; various hand tools; and wood finishing. These processes require blueprint and specification interpretation; use of inspection equipment; responsibility for the quality of finished products; good housekeeping and safety. This position reports to the Engineering team, reporting directly to the department supervisor and/or Manager.

Requirements

Experience with Problem Solving, Standard Work, Specification Interpretation and Product functionality
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong team player: proactively able to step in to support other team members as needed and share knowledge to allow cross training of all functions, builds collaborative relationships

Responsibilities

Blueprint reading and processing.
Operation of CNC Mill, Surfcam, table saw, radial arm saw, band saw, drill press, sanders, planer, joiner, aluminum/steel welders, plasma cutter and various hand tools.
Documents actions by logging mandrels, jigs and check fixtures as they process through the department.
Track modifications made to repair mandrels, jigs and fixtures.
Works for continuous improvement in all processes to maximize efficiency.
Work closely with production, customer service and engineering to meet business needs.
Attendance is an essential function of this position. The employee must have regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. The employee must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime before & after regular hours & shifts, as well as weekends.
Other tasks or duties as assigned.
