The Aerojet Rocketdyne Segment of L3Harris is excited to announce an opening for a Tooling Engineer Manager at our state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) in Huntsville, AL. This facility is at the forefront of innovation, specializing in the fabrication and assembly of cutting-edge composite rocket motor hardware. The Tooling Engineering Manager is responsible for technical and administrative leadership of the Tool Engineering group within Operations. This manager provides tool engineering process direction and leadership to tool engineers supporting production and new product development. Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior Engineering Management experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior Engineering Management experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior Engineering Management experience.
• 5 years tooling engineering experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with tooling design analysis with Creo is preferred.
• Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) is preferred.
• Experience working on government contracts is preferred.
• Experience in, or high level of understanding in
• High-rate manufacturing
• Composite manufacturing is a plus
• Aerospace and defense manufacturing is a plus.
• Experience in MRP or MES systems (preferably Oracle or Delmia) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides tool engineering and tool design process direction and leadership to the tooling organization to support production and new programs.
• Develop and utilize processes that promote continuous improvement using lean manufacturing and other Operational Excellence tools.
• Works closely with site management, manufacturing engineering, process areas and product work centers to provide timely and qualified tooling support for operation needs.
• Provides coaching and mentoring for career development and advancement of team members.
• Develops and manages team budget and schedule.
• Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
• Travel: 10%.
