Job Mission The tool management has the task of procuring prototype- and series tools as well as other components related to the tool within the scope of the specified project costs and dates with external toolmakers. The tool management establishes the interface to the external toolmakers and coordinates all necessary tasks. 2. Tasks, Competences and Responsibilities The job holder is responsible for the correct commercial, scheduling and quality handling of the procurement of injection molding tools (incl. prototypes) in close cooperation with the project management and product development Collaboration in the HBK process through participation in HBK meetings, independent maintenance of HBK, preparation of request-specific documents and making inquiries with toolmakers Creation of tool specifications based on the selected manufacturing concept and writing of specifications Conducting negotiations with suppliers within the defined budget and drawing up decision bases for supplier selection Support of the tool design by external tool makers and release of the tool concepts Regular monitoring of tool progress (by on-site visits) and documentation. Independent initiation of corrective measures or timely escalation within the organization Support of product development in the area of tool-oriented product design and cooperation in the development of tool concepts within the definition of the production concept as well as approval of tool concepts together with industrialization and process engineering Support for tool optimizations in the production plants, especially during the start-up phase Performing and evaluating tool calculations for new tools (series / prototypes) and tool changes as well as specific support of sales / project management in negotiating tools with the customer Coordination of tool sampling with external toolmakers in consultation with the project managers Acceptance and approval of the tools in cooperation with the specialist departments Qualifications Personality • Willingness to commit and personal initiative • Reliability • Self-critical • Role model Self-assured • Highly logical thinking and comprehension • High sense of loyalty • Willingness to travel (CH and PRC) Professional Competence Degree/Diploma in engineering, preferably tooling or mechanical engineering. Over 6 years experience in tooling management, detailed tooling RFQ, design, tooling try-out, Tooling and injection suppliers management. Confident negotiator in Chinese and English with meaningful closure; additional language (German) is plus. Responsibilities
