About The Position

SUMMARY: The Tooling Engineer II is responsible for the design and development of new tooling and equipment to support corporate-driven strategic initiatives and customer-driven product development. The Tooling Engineer II will work closely with Sales, Product Engineering, Operations, and Machine Shop Departments to provide cost estimates and process/product capabilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Interface with Operations and Engineering to address and resolve technical issues Prepare tool drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor from concepts provided by multiple information sources Create and maintain Engineering Standards and written processes/procedures Support Production with die/tooling commissioning, set-up, and debugging Support the New Product Development and Quoting processes by providing cost estimates, delivering capability analysis, and interacting with stakeholders Work closely with Sales and Pre-Press Department to provide feedback on embossing capabilities and lead-time Place POs and maintain working relationships with outside tooling manufacturers Follow Company personnel and product safety requirements including standards such as those from SQF and internal GMPs Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience in tooling design and fabrication; experience with dies, multi-dies, progressive dies, threaders, flangers, seamers, welders and other can-making equipment is a plus
  • Experience with 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Inventor
  • Ability to interact and cooperate with all levels of employees and departments
  • General understanding of Drafting Standards and methodologies
  • Working knowledge of tolerances and material finishes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with foreign contacts
  • Ability to adapt and excel in a fast paced and frequently changing work environment based on customer requirements and production demands
  • B.S. Degree in an Engineering discipline from an ABET accredited College and 5+ years of experience in engineering.

Responsibilities
