About The Position

You will be the Tooling Architect - Level 5 for the Production Engineering team which is responsible for defining and executing Aero’s enterprise‑wide tooling strategy. What You Will Be Doing As the Tooling Architect - Level 5 you will be responsible for championing the future‑state tooling vision, driving cross‑functional collaboration, and aligning tooling processes with Model‑Based Enterprise (MBE) and digital transformation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading cross‑functional, multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex, multi‑year projects on schedule.
  • Background in aircraft tooling.

  • Strong communication and influencing skills across senior leadership, and technical peers.
  • Experience overcoming resistance to change.
  • Expertise in aircraft tooling design and LM Aero tooling processes.
  • Proficiency with engineering PLM systems.
  • Familiarity with Model‑Based Engineering (MBE) principles and their application to tooling.
  • Familiarity with determinate assembly concepts and practices.
  • Experience establishing and moderating Communities of - Practice or similar knowledge‑sharing forums.
  • Exposure to digital transformation (DX) initiatives.
  • Background in long‑term strategy development and roadmap execution.
  • Expertise in creating and maintaining detailed project schedules.
  • Expertise in developing, documenting, and sustaining standard work.
  • Experience influencing enterprise‑wide standards and governance structures.

Responsibilities

  • Define, communicate, and own the Aero tooling strategy and long‑term roadmap, embedding emerging technology trends.
  • Establish and facilitate Communities of Practice that span programs, Business Areas, and supporting functions, capturing lessons learned and codifying best practices.
  • Act as the subject‑matter expert for tooling processes, designing future‑state standard processes and ensuring consistent enterprise application.
  • Guide capability‑development teams in applying MBE principles to tooling solutions and approve proposed designs for conformity.
  • Stay current on tooling technologies, recommend new tools, and contribute to 1LMX initiatives to integrate tooling into the manufacturing execution framework.
