About The Position

The Tool Technician provides hands-on support for tool maintenance, repair, and shopfloor readiness. This role ensures tools are functional, safe, and available for engine maintenance operations, while also supporting production in resolving tool-related issues and improving tool organization. This position contributes to a dedicated team responsible for the comprehensive management and strategic development of all tooling-related aspects within the engineering department. Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on tools and fixtures. Troubleshoot tool issues during engine disassembly and assembly and provide immediate support to production. Ensure proper tool handling and storage in the shopfloor environment. Create tailored tool kits for specific workscopes and processes. Develop and implement concepts for tool organization, such as shadow boards and visual management systems. Manage tool inventory, issue, and return processes. Support tool tracking and condition monitoring.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or associate degree in aviation maintenance preferred.
  • Experience in engine maintenance, preferably in a DAT MRO environment.
  • Strong understanding of engine systems, components, and maintenance procedures.
  • Familiarity with OEM manuals (e.g., CMM, AMM, IPC) and digital maintenance platforms.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent work ethic and motivation for a high standard of work.

Nice To Haves

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification or equivalent (EASA Part-66, etc.) preferred.
