About The Position

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a Tool Service Technician (Service Tech I). In this role, you will be responsible for performing manual and maintenance tasks, as well as minor repairs of specialty tools, ensuring safety and professionalism. This position offers opportunities for personal and professional growth, with the potential to advance to higher-level technician roles within the Service Department. A key aspect of the role is providing exceptional customer service to clients.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Basic understanding of electrical testing equipment
Good mechanical aptitude including basic knowledge of tools
Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use
Report machine condition to Management
Load and unload equipment while complying with DOT regulations for height, width and weight
Clean all tools and prepare new equipment for rent or sale
Demonstrate tools for customers
Perform minor repairs of rental equipment and tools including electrical, calibration, certification, and tagging of tools for rental ready status
Demonstrate equipment for customers
Provide assistance to higher level technicians as needed
Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
Other duties assigned as needed
