About The Position

Milton CAT is seeking a Tool Room Technician to work in our N. Syracuse location. Tool Room Technicians are responsible for the receiving, storing, and issuing of hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment to Shop Service Technicians. This is a union position. Requirements

  • High school diploma or (GED) equivalent.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and related software.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Strong problem solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to lift more than 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Heavy equipment service/maintenance knowledge a plus.
  • Able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment.

Responsibilities

  • Check in/out service tools and literature.
  • Inspect and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear, calibrate, service and repair tools.
  • Mark and identify tools and equipment.
  • Maintain tool inventory and service manuals.
  • Perform basic maintenance on shop vehicles and equipment.
  • Receive, unpack, and store incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
  • Cleaning and general maintenance of Shop area.
  • Assists Technicians with parts ordering.
