Responsible for all aspects of in-house tool and die manufacturing, maintenance, development and testing activities to ensure the production objectives are met, to maximize productivity and maintain the highest levels of workmanship for all tool and die activities. Manage the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the team. Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes. Responsible for print review, in collaboration with sales and die builder, and review of existing dies. Manages the tooling budget to purchase expenditures. Work with the external die manufacturers to ensure correct specifications before arriving to plant. Support Customers with improving and maintaining tools and dies. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on tool, die making experience
  • Candidate will not need sponsorship now or in the future
  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Carol Stream, IL
  • Good computer skills to work with CAD/CAM technology, CNC machine tools, and computerized measuring techniques
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in high-volume production environment
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Must possess good organizational and prioritization skills to maintain and address multiple assigned projects and expectations
  • The employee is occasionally required to lift to 40 pounds
  • Noise level in plant is moderate
  • Hear protection required posted areas
  • Safety Glasses required in manufacturing areas
