About The Position

Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Tool Management Specialist - Lead to join our Team in Columbus, MS In this leadership role, you will be responsible for creating and deploying the master tool inventory system, and analyzing, tracking, monitoring, and recording the calibration of Inspection, Measuring and Test Equipment (IMTE) to comply with company processes and procedures. You will also establish contracts with suppliers and schedule calibration services for all requirements, and will manage the onsite calibration of tooling where possible. In addition, you will also be responsible in ensuring all tool processes and procedures are in compliance with Airbus and regulatory requirements. Requirements

  • Possess BS in Production Management / Industrial Technology or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years in tool management, calibration, kitting, warehousing database management.
  • Prior SAP or database experience
  • Familiar with inspection tools, aids, and devices used in determining tolerances and specification limits
  • Google Suite software
  • SAP
  • 5% Domestic and International expectation
  • Must be a US Person under ITAR definition (a U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with calibrated tools and equipment
  • Experience with any of the following: AS9100, EASA, FAA & CASE standards

Responsibilities

  • Tool Calibration
  • Performs a monthly review of calibration due dates for all tools
  • Coordinates the tool movements for monthly calibrations
  • Manage the environmental controls for internal calibration per ISO/IEC - 17025
  • Ensure calibrated IMTE is permanently identified and labelled with the required information
  • Create system purchase requisitions for external calibration
  • Create shipping paperwork and facilitate the shipment of IMTE to calibration vendors
  • Liaison between internal customers and quality personnel to address potential product concerns related to maintenance, calibration, or tooling issues
  • Provide quarterly training for calibration back-up(s)
  • Tool Control and Management
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining the system inventory of all active and inactive tools and toolboxes.
  • Analyzes and manages the physical inventory of all inactive tools and toolboxes
  • Enters all new tools in the calibration system and ensures new tools comply with company procedures
  • Monitors and tracks the permanent transfer of tools between department
  • Analyze and make recommendations for improvement to manuals, procedures, work instructions, and forms related to the Tool and Calibration processes
  • Department Lead for Tool Rooms
  • Assist with assigning work schedules for all tool rooms.
  • Be adaptable, flexible and assertive when required.
  • Conflict Management - support and manage differences of opinion.
  • Assists with internal and external audits as required.
  • Provides support dealing with personnel and disciplinary issues
  • Assists with training for new hires
  • Reporting, Records Administration, and Continuous Improvement
  • Provide monthly status reports for upcoming calibrations and identify past due equipment/tools.
  • Create and update SAP Tool Control records to retain historical records and provide current status when IMTE is due for calibration
  • Scan and electronically store historical calibration records. Implements and maintains document storage and retention systems. Manage electronic documentation system for future retrieval
  • Review the calibration history of IMTE and adjust the calibration sampling period based on usage, statistical patterns, and reliability
  • Assist with research and training to determine the required requirements to perform onsite calibration for tool categories. Ability to escalate issues to management team when required.
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making - identify and solve problems, develop innovative solutions, act decisively and display good judgment.
