Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Familiar with, and knowledgeable in the use of, the typical measuring tools used for mechanical inspection, such as dial calipers, micrometers, hardness testers, optical contour projectors, hard gauges, and Gage maker Mic-Trac system.
  • Familiar with current health, safety & environmental (HSE) training as per the division training matrix (Including regulatory and SES required courses).
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safe operations.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, including programming used for Quality Control and Inspection activities.
  • Applicable PPE is required to complete assigned tasks.
  • Must have a working knowledge of high school mathematics, including algebra and trigonometry.
  • Familiar with Quality Systems and requirements.
  • Reading and understanding specifications and other work-related documents.
  • Identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and recommend solutions.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Must be able to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, schematics, diagrams, sketches, and/or specifications.
  • Ability to work on-call as needed.
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain the equipment used in the daily performance of their activities.
  • Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Accurately complete/maintain necessary reports/records in a timely and legible manner, according to applicable procedures and/or work orders.

  • Reaching - regularly required to use hands and arms to reach objects.
  • Stooping / Crouching – regularly required to bend forward by bending at the waist or by bending legs and spine
  • Crawling - required to work in confined spaces, crawl, and move about on hands and knees
  • Near Acuity - requires clarity at 20 feet or more with or without corrective lenses
  • Speaking - requires expressing ideas through the spoken word.
  • Listening - requires the perception of speech or the nature of sounds in the air.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous inspection experience and/or training is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of new rental product
  • Perform functional tests on pieces/parts
  • Perform inspection of assemblies
  • Perform visual inspection of components and assemblies in accordance with applicable documents
  • Work with customer inspectors in the examination of the product
  • Assist Engineering and Operations in the investigation of product failures.
  • Assist outside suppliers with problems related to subcontracted parts.
  • Assist in the training of other personnel as required.
  • Perform simple calibrations and maintain records for various tools, instruments, and gauges used in the manufacturing and inspection processes.
