About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking a Tool & Fixture Specialist (Tow Team Lead) to join the team in North Charleston, South Carolina. The Team Lead will be responsible for, but not limited to, performing tasks in the following areas; pre-shift planning, crew meetings, team status updates, labor loss, production control, training, process improvement and Lean/BPS. The expectation is to carry out these responsibilities (at minimum) on a daily basis while living and instilling the Boeing values aligned with the Boeing priorities This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in the Velocity system
  • 1+ years of experience reading and interpreting drawings or blueprints
  • 1+ years of 787 Operations experience
  • 1+ years of aircraft towing experience
  • 1+ years of experience in Microsoft Office
  • Valid state issued drivers license

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a leadership role
  • Experience operating Large Cargo Transporters and rack operating system at BSC
  • Knowledgeable of the Action Request system
  • Proficient in the logistics of BSC towing locations
  • Conflict of Interest Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex tool setup activities (e.g., alignment, leveling, logistics)
  • Performs visual inspections on tools using appropriate documentation
  • Manufactures assembly and fabrication tools using various manual and computer-controlled machines, hand tools and precision alignment equipment
  • Operates various factory support equipment to move materials and tools as required
  • Provides tooling support to other organizations
  • Designs various part fabrication and assembly tools per part engineering drawings or customer requests to enable production using computer or paper tool design processes
  • Determines fabrication and assembly processes for the design
  • Resolves problems with tool to produce acceptable parts and assemblies
  • Carry out duties and responsibilities necessary to conduct safe movement and execution of aircraft, major body sections, tools, and equipment
  • Building team capability and a healthy team environment
  • Planning and administering work assignments and resources
  • Continually improving team performance
  • Facilitating communication and information sharing and assisting team members in accomplishing their work
