About The Position

The student intern will support the Skokie Tool Engineering team by collaborating with engineers, skilled tradesmen and operators to create an online database of best practices for troubleshooting press calls accessible from tool room tablets. Additionally assist the Tool Engineering team with any other projects assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative on new tasks
  • Able to work in an engaging, fast-paced, and learning-oriented environment.
  • Experience reading blueprints.
  • AutoCAD or similar experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous co-op or internship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take the lead on the best practices database project.
  • Assist engineers with rule die design.
  • Design fixtures and gauges as needed.
  • Create color coded prints.
  • Create laser shim programs.
