The Tool and Die Specialist will report to the Tool and Die Supervisor and will be responsible for performing tooling change, preventative maintenance, and repairs on automotive injection molds. Excellent tool and die craftsmanship skills is crucial for the team to achieve success. The ideal candidate has a proven record of success in similar environments. Must have the ability to work with various teams within manufacturing. The successful candidate for this position takes pride in hands-on and analytical abilities, organization skills and attention to detail. Support design engineering to evaluate feasibility and implementation of tooling changes to accommodate part change Assist process engineering with part processing and troubleshooting for ongoing scrap reduction, cycle time reduction and downtime reduction Responsible for the correct disassembly and assembly of molds in a safe and timely manner Identify and implement proactive systems to achieve consistent reduction in injection molding defects and productivity concerns Support production floor to repair and/or fabricate cores, cavities, and various other components of automotive injection molds ranging from small 200t interior parts to large 3000t fascia Maintain mold preventative maintenance systems, including following and developing detailed work instructions to manage on schedule completion of activities Maintain and stock mold spare parts
