A day in this role You start your shift by walking the toolroom floor, checking the status of dies coming off the presses. A complex die set is showing inconsistent clearances, so you diagnose the fault, take precise measurements with dial indicators, gauge blocks, thickness gauges, and micrometers, and plan the repair. You heat-treat a replacement insert, hand-fit components with scrapers and abrasive stones, validate alignment, and update the setup and PM procedures so the next run is smoother. Before you wrap up, you capture your troubleshooting steps and lessons learned in clear, concise documentation.
