About The Position

Bajo las instrucciones del Supervisor(a) de “Tool Room” o persona designada, será responsable de realizar reparaciones a moldes, dados progresivos (“progressive dies”) y herramientas (“tools”) que serán utilizados en producción. Utilizando los planos y documentos relacionados, realiza construcciones de componentes en los moldes, dados progresivos y herramientas, según sea requerido y en el tiempo estipulado.  A Day In The Life
Responsable de realizar mantenimientos preventivos de los equipos de “tool room”, según sean asignados por el Supervisor, siguiendo los procedimientos establecidos y/o instrucciones de los manufactureros.
Se asegura de cumplir y llevar a cabo lo establecido en las Políticas, Procedimientos y Reglas de Seguridad Ocupacional, Calidad, Ambiental, Seguridad de Planta Física, Finanzas, y otras.
Verifica las condiciones de moldes, dados progresivos y herramientas, incluyendo limpieza y funcionamiento mecánico.  Repara estos de acuerdo con las necesidades y requerimientos específicos de cada situación.  Reporta daños encontrados al Supervisor.   
Responsable de la reparación, ajuste y servicio de moldes, incluyendo tareas de soldadura, rectificación, construcción de cavidades, “knock-out bars” trabajos de textura con “sandblasting”, reemplazo de “ejectors pins”, “ejectors blades”, “core pins”, “leader pins”, “O-rings”, tornillos deteriorados, mantenimiento de pasajes de agua, conectores de agua (“fittings”), sistemas hidráulicos, sistemas “hot runner” y sistemas de “rack -and- pinion”, entre otros.
Responsable de la reparación, ajuste y servicio de dados progresivos, incluyendo tareas de soldadura, rectificación, amolado, construcción de secciones, ponches, insertos, reemplazo de casquillos (“bushings”), pilotos, resortes (“springs”) y tornillos deteriorados, entre otros. 
Trabaja con medidas de precisión y de tolerancias críticas en el desarrollo de su trabajo, diariamente.
Se asegura que todo el equipo dentro del departamento se utilice, según los procedimientos establecidos y/o siguiendo las instrucciones de los manufactureros.
Aplicando sus conocimientos y destrezas realiza otras tareas adicionales y relacionadas que, en situaciones extraordinarias, y que en cualquier otra área requieran de su intervención, según instrucciones del Supervisor. 

Requirements

• Graduate of Technical School in Tool and Die Making or equivalent to a technical degree and four (4) to eight (8) years of experience.
• Reading, understanding and interpretation of plans.
• Reading, writing, understanding and interpretation of Spanish and English languages (basic level).
• Knowledge and experience in industrial workshop equipment such as lathes, grinders, milling machines and others.
• Knowledge and experience in construction and repair of molds and progressive dies.
• Knowledge in welding, Sinker EDM, Wire EDM, Milling CNC and Hole Popper EDM.
• Knowledge of hot runners injection systems.
• Knowledge and experience with measuring tools such as; caliper, micrometer, height gage, Depth gage, among others.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing repairs to molds, progressive dies and tools that will be used in production.
• Responsible for performing preventive maintenance on tool room equipment, as assigned by the Supervisor, following established procedures and/or manufacturer's instructions.
• Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety, Quality, Environmental, Physical Plant Security, Finance, and other Policies, Procedures and Rules.
• Verifies the condition of molds, progressive dies and tools, including cleaning and mechanical operation. Repairs these according to the specific needs and requirements of each situation. Reports damage found to the Supervisor.
• Responsible for the repair, adjustment and service of molds, including welding, rectification, cavity construction, knock-out bars, sandblasting texture work, replacement of ejectors pins, ejectors blades, core pins, leader pins, O-rings, deteriorated screws, water passage maintenance, water connectors (fittings), hydraulic systems, hot runner systems and rack -and- pinion systems, among others.
• Responsible for the repair, adjustment and service of progressive dies, including welding, rectification, grinding, section construction, punches, inserts, replacement of bushings, pilots, springs and deteriorated screws, among others.
• Works with precision measurements and critical tolerances in the development of his work, daily.
• Ensures that all equipment within the department is used according to established procedures and/or following manufacturer's instructions.
• Performs other additional and related tasks that, in extraordinary situations, and that in any other area require their intervention, according to the Supervisor's instructions.
