About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool & Die Grinder to fabricate, repair, and maintain tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have strong machining skills, experience with blueprints, and a commitment to quality and precision.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a recognized Tool & Die Maker apprenticeship or equivalent trade certification.
3-5 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Proficient in blueprint reading and GD&T.
Knowledge of metallurgy and heat treatment of tool steels.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Ability to lift and move heavy tools and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
Standing, walking, and working on machines for extended periods.
Manual dexterity and visual acuity for precision tasks.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with CAD/CAM software is an asset.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to plan tool and die manufacturing.
Set up and operate manual and CNC machines (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders, EDM).
Construct and repair a wide variety of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.
Conduct inspections and test the performance of completed tools and dies to ensure specifications are met.
Maintain preventive maintenance of tools and equipment.
Collaborate with engineers and production teams to resolve tool-related issues.
Document work performed and maintain accurate records of tool changes or improvements.
Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards throughout the toolmaking process.
