About The Position
The Tool Designer will work with a world-class industrial manufacturer of injection molding electronic and consumer products. This role is responsible for designing tight tolerance molds and managing all design-related requirements of the Tool Room. This includes data management, stamping and extrusion dies, replacement components, new molds, and manufacturing needs involved during tool builds.
Requirements
- Associate degree or Tool & Die Apprentice certificate from an accredited institution.
- Prior experience with CAD software required.
- 5 years’ experience in plastic injection mold design.
- Experience in creating mold parting lines.
- Prior Tool Room experience.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in stamping dies helpful.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all data management based on Tool Room needs.
- Full mold / tool design as required.
- Assist in tooling (project management) from conception to mold / tool completion.
- Ensure that all tooling forms/paperwork are being filled out properly.
- Assist in coordinating work with outside tooling houses.
- Attend design reviews as required.
- Full mold design abilities, parting line development and solid modeling.
- Ensure that all plant rules, policies and procedures are being adhered to.
- Maintain CAD databases for replacement components and new tooling.
