Job Title: Tool Crib Coordinator, 2nd shift Reporting To: Leader, Performance Work Schedule: Onsite – Torrance, CA Moog Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Tool Crib Coordinator on 2nd shift to support our Machining department and Production Team. will have an onsite work schedule at our aerospace plant in Torrance, CA. Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is a global leader in designing primary and secondary flight control actuation systems (FCAS) for military aircraft. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Experience with tool setting and kitting
  • Experience with all gage inspection equipment
  • Experience with supporting overall Machine Shop operations such as department purchases including tooling, inspection equipment, racking, and cabinets

  • Experience with process improvements and Lean/Kaizen
  • Experience in aerospace industry

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for all gage inspection equipment utilized throughout the Aircraft division’s Machine Shop. Ensures all gage equipment gets calibrated timely and accurately.
  • Accountable for setting and kitting of the tooling in designated areas, which streamlines the set-up time and improves on time delivery.
  • Coordinate and/or leads key processes and activities to support the success of the overall department or functional operations.
  • Responsible for processing over 20,000 inspection gages throughout the Aircraft Group’s Machine Shop, Processing and A&T.
  • On a weekly/ daily basis, locate all shop gages that need calibration and submit to calibration department.
  • Using the Tooling and Equipment Database (TED), maintain and monitor progress, location and condition of all gages. Including any gage that is being shared across multiple departments.
  • Return all calibrated gages to the proper shop department.
  • Identify and order replacement gages for any damaged, missing or failed gage in a timely manner to maintain operations.
  • Work with all shop machinists to find alternate gage, replace or submit for calibration any gage that is missing or damaged during a valid calibration cycle in order to maintain operations.
  • Responsible for setting the tooling on all work orders in designated areas and/or departments. This includes building the tooling package which creates priority for the work.
  • Within the individual team, you will perform day-to-day administrative functions to support overall Machine Shop operations. Activities may include, but are not limited to, department purchases including tooling, inspection equipment, racking, and cabinets.
  • Coordinate efforts and team resources to accomplish daily delivery schedule priorities and commitments, through participation in and leadership of the tiered management process.
  • Provide technical expertise on operations, procedures, and regulatory concerns (FOD audits, Government audits) that may be unusual or difficult, where specific methods may not be available.
  • Identify and initiates process improvements and Lean/Kaizen activities to reduce costs and increase quality and efficiency.
  • Assist in developing employees to support the performance and growth of the department or team.
  • Maintain organization or identifiable knowledge of government owned fixturing with easy accessibility to locations of such fixturing and tooling.
