About The Position

The Tool and Die Maker position is designed for individuals beginning their career in tooling and manufacturing. Working under direct supervision, you will learn to build, modify, and repair tooling using basic machine operations and measuring instruments. This role is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude and basic familiarity with machinist measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers. No experience? No problem — we provide full on‑the‑job training to develop your skills and set you up for a successful career. On-the-Job Training We provide comprehensive hands-on training led by experienced toolmakers and machinists. You’ll learn machine operations, measuring techniques, and safe work practices while gaining confidence in real production tasks. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills
  • Ability to follow safety regulations
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong initiative, focus, and attention to detail
  • Solid math and problem‑solving abilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members
  • Willingness to learn machining practices, blueprint reading, and other tasks through training
  • Regular work near moving mechanical parts and vibration
  • Ability to concentrate while using torches, ovens, grinders, and sanders
  • Occasional exposure to hot/humid conditions
  • Moderate noise environment
  • This position works in a Manufacturing environment and requires a person to be able to frequently walk, stand, bend and twist; see, hear, and talk; use fingers and hands, with good hand and finger dexterity to handle or feel controls or products; use hands and arms to reach, hold and carry product.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of machinist measuring tools (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Work safely and follow all environmental health and safety guidelines.
  • Set, operate, and adjust basic machine equipment (milling machines, grinders, drill presses, sanders) to create or modify tooling.
  • Pull and prepare tooling for production per specifications.
  • Clean and store returned tooling according to procedures.
  • Use torches, metal bending equipment, and forming tools to assist with modifying tooling.
  • Handle basic mechanical measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Follow instructions, established procedures, and team direction while developing independent skills.
